About the Film, "Recorder: The Marion Stokes Project"
to screen July 14th in on-line with Image Quilt Cinema.

Marion Stokes secretly recorded television twenty-four hours a day for thirty years. It started in 1979 with the dawn of the twenty-four hour news cycle and ended when Marion passed away in 2012. In total, Marion recorded on 70,000 VHS tapes, capturing revolutions, lies, wars, triumphs, and catastrophes that tell us who we were and how television has shaped the world of today.

This year Image Quilt will feature work of visual and performing artists before and after movie screenings.  Come to an event to learn more about the work of Tage Sprague, sculptor.

Image Quilt Cinema will continue to screening independent films and the Indie Pop Up Lens Series in Herkimer, NY, Camden, NJ, Albany, NY, throughout 2020-2021.  

 

We are also co-sponsoring a New Playright's series which will feature the work of local screenwriters and playrights.

Interested in commissioning a live dance film piece? 

 

"Paris/Black/Woman": 

Is a documentary and dance piece that Image Quilt Productions, Inc. is producing.  Shot on 35mm, 16mm, and digital video between 1997 and 2003, the piece tells the story of people of African descent living in Paris, France and their struggle with visibility.  Performed on Feb 1st, 2016 at Montclair State University in New Jersey, with performers, Marsha Pierre, Emmanuel Paulino, and Omonike Akinyemi, the piece can be commissioned for public performance.  Other pieces from Image Quilt Dance Theater's repertoire include, "Emancipado", and "Obatala".  View Clip from "Paris/Black/Woman" Here:
