I am Not Your Negro Coming Soon...

November 11, 2017

Coming soon...

One of the most acclaimed films of the year and an Oscar nominee for Best Documentary, I Am Not Your Negro envisions the book James Baldwin never finished. The result is a radical, up-to-the-minute examination of race in America, using Baldwin’s original words, spoken by Samuel L. Jackson, and with a flood of rich archival material.

Image Quilt will be screening this film in Camden, New Jersey and is currently looking for co-sponsors for a New York state screening.  Please email us if you are interested in helping.

Angel and the Badman Matinee

October 14, 2017

About Angel and the Badman...

Quite possibly the most unique and “high-brow” Western that John Wayne ever starred in, this was also the first one he made in the role of producer, after the studio set him up with his own production company. When Wayne’s character, Quirt Evans, is wounded outside the home of a Quaker family, he is taken in and nursed back to health, with particular attention paid to him by their sheltered yet attractive daughter. Evans is enticed by the family’s pacifist ways, but his outlaw past soon catches up with him. Great performances by Wayne and Gail Russel, as well as Harry Carey, Bruce Cabot and Paul Hurst.

The film is the definitive look at the boundary-shattering musician whose influence continues to this day.   Screens October 7th in Fort Plain and a date to be announced in Camden, NJ.  Our Camden screening locations nclude La Unique Bookstore and the Free Public Library.  See clip here:  Chasing Trane

Stink! The Movie

October 14, 2017

STINK! opens with a foul smell and a pair of kids pajamas. And a single father trying to find out what that smell could possibly be. But instead of getting a straight answer, director Jon Whelan stumbles on an even bigger issue in America, which is that some products on our store shelves are not safe— by design.

This Screening is Co-sponsored by Positive Action Mohawk Valley
